Technologist, UX Professional, Futurist, Entrepreneur

I am a senior leader with a passion for translating cutting edge technology and design into impactful products. My goal is to design and develop products that help people in everyday tasks and connect them to others. I work best with collaborative organizations that span boundaries of traditional disciplines.

I started Pivot Point Innovation to work with entrepreneurial teams and early stage companies on strategy, customer development, product planning, and UX design.

Previously I was VP, Global Head of the Immersive Experiences lab at HP, leading research, design and development of new products in VR/AR, 3D printing and design tools. My team created the HP Omnicept software for personalized experiences for HP Reverb G2 headset. The platform incorporates user’s response captured by biometric sensors and takes training, wellbeing, creation and collaboration to the next level. Our vision of VR on Every Desk illustrates what future studios for creative professionals will look like and introduced new types of input devices that link VR and desktop tools. We also developed an extensive collection of 3D printing applications that push the boundaries of digital manufacturing with Multi Jet Fusion (MJF).

Earlier I was the Senior Principal Scientist at Harman in the Future User Experience team and co-founder of Kindoma (acquired by Hoot Reading), a startup focused on connecting geographically dispersed families and improving early childhood literacy. I also served as Director of Exploratory Research at the Nokia Research Center, Silicon Valley and led research activities and technical teams at HP, Yahoo and Transarc.

My colleagues in academia have been some of my best collaborators and an endless source of inspiration. I was the General Chair of the HotMobile 2008 conference and the program co-chair of the Pervasive 2010 conference.

I am proud recipient of the Profiles in Diversity Journal‘s 2017 Women Worth Watching in STEM® Award.
